Have you ever examined the ingredients listed on the labels of your cosmetics or other skin care products. Do you know what those ingredients are. What you may not realize is that many of the skin care products and cosmetics you are buying contain ingredients that are not only harmful to your skin, but also to your long term health. Many of these ingredients are known carcinogens cancer-causing and are used by the cosmetic industry simply because they are cheap. Here are just some of the synthetic chemicals used in cosmetic products that have been identified by scientific studies to be harmful to your health. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate SLS and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate ALS : Often described as being derived from coconut to disguise their toxic nature, these chemicals are commonly used in shampoos, toothpaste, foaming facial and body cleansers and bubble bath. SLS and ALS can cause severe skin irritation, and are easily absorbed into the body, building up in the brain, heart, lungs and liver, leading to potential long term health problems. SLS and ALS may also cause cataracts, and prevent children s eyes from developing properly. Paraben...

The Whole Tinnitus Story

Most people are not aware that the correct term for a ringing in the ears is tinnitus which can be pronounced either as tin-night-is or tin-nit-is. Tinnitus is also called ear ringing, others will describe it as soft buzzing sounds, humming bird noises, rushing noises like water, hissing, and or tapping like sounds. Not all people will describe their tinnitus noises equally - some hear screaming jet engines and others a gentle purr. Tinnitus is a condition, not a disease. Tinnitus is a manifestation caused from medical conditions that can include but is not limited to such conditions as a build up of fuid, middle ear infection, a burst eardrum; or conditions and diseases like meniere s disease. Many over the counter drugs and medications can cause tinnitus. Tinnitus can occur in any of the four sections of the ear: the outer ear, middle ear, inner ear, and the brain. In addition to the noises associated with tinnitus, people often have a feeling of fullness in the ears. Experts agree that damage to the delicate microscopic inner ear nerve endings is responsible for the majority of all tinnitus cases. We have literally millions of...

How To Not Lose Weight

Posted on April 4, 2009 by Sudie •  Comments (13)  •

You can do this in several ways. Firstly by:- Going on a starvation diet. That is missing meals and only having half meals when you do eat. You may think that by missing meals you are taking in less calories and surely that is what you must do to lose weight. But you are wrong. Because your body will decide that there is going to be a famine for whatever reason and so will store whatever carbohydrates and fat are in the food you DO eat and store it as fat for possible future starvation. Not drinking enough water. Water is essential for living. You can live for about 3 weeks without food, but only about 7 days without water. You need to drink about 2 litres a day. If like me you don t like plain water, you can add unsweetened cordial to it. Do not confuse drinking pure fruit juice with drinking water. Pure fruit juice is more of a food than a drink. Alcohol especially beer will make you put on weight because it is full of calories. So if you DON T want to lose weight, drink lots of it. Also, not drinking enough water could make you constipated. This will make you feel bloated, sluggish and your metabolism will slow down, resulting in...

Do You Need Some Kansas Time?

If you ve ever driven across Kansas, you know it s an excellent place to do some great thinking. You barely need to turn the steering wheel for 500 miles and 99 of what you see is the road ahead and corn and wheat fields to the side. My best friend calls it ponder time. Recently I from North Carolina, where I had lived for 11 years, to Fort Collins, Colorado. As you can imagine, there was a great deal of time packing and unpacking those cardboard recyclers loved me. But between North Carolina and Colorado, I had some amazing Kansas Time. It s easy to do some great thinking with this scenery. Gently rolling, wide open space. The landscape encourages you to be with yourself. For some great photos, visit http: www.accesskansas.org tourism photo gallery.html What came to me in my Kansas Time was remembering in a powerful way that we are not alone and that the universe is out to help us. There are signs all the time helping us and guiding us. As a coach, a lot of my focus is on helping clients get into action. Lack of action is a huge problem for many people. Fear, procrastination, hesitation we all have our pet excuses for not moving...
